About Teachers’ Pocketbooks

Teachers' Pocketbooks LogoYou’ve probably come across Teachers’ Pocketbooks already – postcard-size books, the ones with the cartoons. Teachers’ Pocketbooks were launched in 2003 with the intention of supporting classroom teachers with up-to-the-minute information, practical ideas and expertise on a wide range of topics. There are now around 40 books in the series, easily identifiable by their colourful jackets and attractive lay-out. Pocketbooks are known among teachers and other education professionals for their inspiring, informative content made all the more accessible by a refreshing dose of visual humour. If you don’t know TP already, then you might want to make a quick detour to our website www.teacherspocketbooks.co.uk where you can see the full range of titles and download free extracts from each book. Pocketbooks may be small in size but they carry enough weight to transform practice.

About the bloggers

And the blogger? I’m Linda Edge and I’ve been Teachers’ Pocketbooks managing editor since the series was launched. I’ve seen all 38 books take shape from commissioning, through editing, to publication. Before joining the Pocketbooks team I was a secondary school English teacher in Hampshire and, before that, Nottinghamshire. I’m interested in teaching and learning and I follow ideas, research, theories and developments in education so that I can keep Teachers’ Pocketbooks at the forefront of best practice.
